Hi All Our December meeting is this Friday December 7th. I'm afraid I wont be able to atend the meeting so the secretary will chair the meeting this month. We had a good November meeting. Many thanks to Dave Ogden of Macclesfield AS for a very interesting and enjoyable talk on the exploration of Mars so far. We even managed some impromptu comet watching after the meeting as several members had brought binoculars (just in case).

There have been a couple of changes on the committee this year. Kevin Thurstan has moved to the vacant post of Chairman. Geoff Flood has taken over as Secretary. Richard Bullock remains as Treasurer.

We will be having a farewell get-together on Friday 21st July from 9.00 pm at our new venue the Scout hut to say goodbye to our old observatory site just across the sports field from the Scout hut. Another successful evening at Delamere Forest Park Visitor Centre. We have an event on at the Delamere Forest Park visitor center this coming Friday 14th October. There will be two identical sessions starting at 7pm and 8pm each consisting of three twenty minute talks to do with different aspects of amateur astronomy, and a display of astronomical telescopes.

I have added a new feature to the ADAS 'Latest News' and 'Observing Reoprts' pages, you will see on the right hand side a small XML icon. On Saturday the 18th September ADAS attended the Timperley Country fair for the 18th year (year 2001 was cancelled due to building work) The weather was terrible for the first part of the day with the rain lashing down but then just after lunch the sky cleared and trade picked up. With Don on the children’s lucky dip, Colin on the dice game, and then the usual Tombola we had a fair afternoon
