Jodrell Bank

You have all probably heard the news of the possible cuts to the Jodrell Bank budget and potential closure.
I have received requests to circulate information regarding the threat to Jodrell and Merlin. The article below gives some information.

Should you feel strongly about the proposal and its possible implications, we have been asked to encourage you to write to your local MP, local newspaper, and even the national broadsheets.

Don Utton

nsytcwAs many of you will know, sadly, Don passed away a week ago.
His funeral is tomorrow, 13th December 2007 - 12:15 at St Vincent de Paul's church in Altrincham.

Next Meeting

Hi All

Our December meeting is this Friday December 7th. I'm afraid I wont be able to atend the meeting so the secretary will chair the meeting this month.

This month Paul Clark is going to keep you all awake with a sky diary, a runthrough of some more widefield images from Tenerife and finaly a show & tell of his new tracking mount.

November Meeting

We had a good November meeting.

Many thanks to Dave Ogden of Macclesfield AS for a very interesting and enjoyable talk on the exploration of Mars so far.

We even managed some impromptu comet watching after the meeting as several members had brought binoculars (just in case).
